What is an ENFJ??????

Amazing how things get around this blog world. So my friend Amy from UVSC sent this to me, so I thought I would let you all get a kick out of it and try it yourselves. I think I posted the link. Check it out and see if this really is how you see yourself. What is really funny is how we do these things sometimes to entertain ourselves. LOL!!! And then what does ENFJ really stand for????

"Old Love!"

Oh my goodness, it is December 5th and I haven't had a minute to write anything! You see, that is why a journal is hard for me. Oh well!!! I'm dead in the middle of finals and grades and teaching, teaching, teaching, and Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat! (Hope I'm not!) But, I can say I'm really doing well shopping for gifts. Well,maybe pretty good. Forget my house being decorated! I need Lara!! But at least I have the tree up. Slowly getting things on it, of course. Did get Daisy groomed for Christmas! The calendar is filling up, up,up!

But I have to say, I am so glad that I have been able to make time for one thing and that is studying or reading the Holy Word of God! If I don't then I suffer immensely! Right now I'm in 3rd Nephi Reading about his ministry over here in the Americas and loving every minute of it. Also, I was called upon to give the YW lesson to all the YW last week on developing talents! It was wonderful as usual for the teacher to learn or remember what you already knew! His gifts are innumerable to us as we have to ask for them. Then the VTing message is becoming an instrument in His hands through charity! That is one of the most difficult gifts to acquire and to keep! I sincerely have to ask for that regularly! I love that Howard W Hunter says we can't force people to be better, but we can inspire them to be better! I have a few people in my life who do just that for me!

Then on a secular point I was reading Smartmarriages that I get regularly and loved the article on "Old Love' vs "New or Young love" and found it profound. I totally relate to the insights there. Here is a sample:

Of course not everyone showed a generous response. But it goes to show you as you become "old dogs" together you really do just like to be together, warts and all, looking out after one another, disagreeing without getting defensive and accepting and remembering the positive things. '

The optimistic King!!

If I don't get my personal study in, I notice I don't feel as good. I don't feel as positive and happy (well, what can I say, it is a very negative world!) Soooo, I can understand that listening to President Hinckley yesterday morning, speaking to BYU students at a CES fireside in 1994, makes you feel so inspired or optimistic. He kept saying several times into the talk, I am so hopeful for the the future! I am so old that I wish I was going to be around for a long time to see these marvelous things begin to unfold!

I think I will stay on his coattails!! He certainly has seen it all!

What, "die" t?????

Quote of the day for all you exercisers and dieters!!

But remember girls, to diet has the word "die" in it. So be choosey of the way you go about eating.

Scary or Funny???

My daughter is phenomenal! She has so many talents and I so appreciate that she will do for us, her parents, some use of them. She took our pictures for our Christmas card/letter! She not only has wonderful camera, and ability to edit the picture, but she has a wonderful eye for poses and and an artistic eye for presentation. So look for a few pictures that may be the ultimate choice for our card this year! It is nice to have a current picture of Mike and I together. Maybe we should compare it to our wedding picture of 35 years ago?????? Would that be scary or funny???

Energy???What's that, huh?

I think I used up all of my energy when I was raising our children! Here I am, 54 years old and teaching 14 classes week, doing so, to earn enough for the future retirement, which isn't to far off, and doing it to keep myself from getting lonely and depressed. I love being able to teach others and motivating them to do things. It brings me great joy to share what I know. Unfortunately not always does anyone want to listen. Oh well. I just keep trying.

But getting back to the energy thing. I just don't have a lot of energy anymore, where did it go? Did I use it up, really, teaching, training, telling those kids how to be happy, independent adults? I certainly helped deliver 1 million newspapers, clean 1 million rooms up, and I'm sure I went to one million games, parent teacher conferences, lessons, church activities, concerts, etc. etc. I'm sure I read one million books to and with my kids, and washed one million dishes as well as prepared one million dinners, (even though that has gone by the wayside too, we eat simply, chicken and a wonderful tossed salad) I am also sure I ran up and down stairs over one millions times, cleaned toilets one million and counting times!!! I am also sure I waited up for one million times for the kids to come home and I'm sure I worried a million times too. Need I say more?????

But why do I feel as if I didn't do anything in raising my children????

Was it a dream? Did nobody notice, or didn't anybody believe I did that? So why no energy???? Because I guess I used it up!! What say ye????

Probably better go clean my house up for the 0ne millionth and one time!

There is no free lunch!

Sorry I've been gone again, but I just can't seem to get to this blog! But here is my thought for today since I study, at least I get that done! From Elder James E. Faust, Ensign, May 2003. M My dear young friends, there is another great truth that you young men (women) must learn. It is that everything has a price. There is a price to pay for success, fulfillment, accomplishment, and joy. There are no freebies. If you don't pay the price that is needed for success, you will pay the price of failure. Preparation, work, study, and service are required to achieve and find happiness. Disobedience and lack of preparation carry a terrible price tag. As priesthood holder of this Church, part of the price we need to pay is by living differently from the world. We are the possessors and custodians of these commanding powers which can and do roll back the power of Satan on the earth. With all my heart I urge you to please help[ us push back the world. We must stand against the wind. Sometimes we must be unpopular and simply say, "this is not right!"

So hence that is why I would teach all my children as they grew up this line "There is no free lunch." For everything we do there is a price. Hard road to learn, I think. But thankfully God has a plan for each of us, one we can't see, but hopefully feel and that we will make the decision to help Him roll back the world!
