Womanhood

President Hinckley said this ,"You women, be good women,
be good mothers.
Be kind and gracious and generous. Strengthen your children with
your faith and your testimony. Lift them up. Help them to
walk throught he troubled ways of the world as they
grow in this very difficult age.
Support, sustain, uphold, and bless your
husbands with your love and your encouragement; and the Lord
will bless you. Even if they are not members of the Church,
bless them with kindness and reach out to them
every good way that you can.
The chances are that they will become members of the Church
before they reach the time they die.
It may be a long time and you may have a lot to put up with, but if that
happens, you will think it is all worth it."

I feel this is true. I am so grateful for Pres. Hinckley to lift us
as well, to give us the broader perspective
on our roles as wives, mothers, sisters, women and friend.

So let's look for the good in all of our men,
not just the ones who are are easy!

Coming Quickly!

Well now everyone, I have the opportunity to speak in Sacrament on Sunday, Easter SUnday mind you, and I just have to say! I have been voraciously studying everything I can get my hands on about the Atonement. But the interesting thing is I have had the hardest time narrowing down this deep doctrine of the kingdom. I am struggling putting anything down on paper to tell you the truth. I have 10-12 minutes. Wow. That short of time when you consider you just start to develop an idea then the time is gone. So I guess I'm answering my own question. I need one idea to focus in on. So what is the one idea that is most important so we all understand or are taught by the Spirit TO understand about this phenomenal doctrine?

If you have any one idea that has touched you profoundly please let me know. Time is of the essence now! Love Love!!

Proclaiming the Proclamation

Okay, guys, our Bishop has given our entire ward the challenge to memorize the Family Proclamation! One sister even developed a beautiful book, complete with pictures to help us all memorize better. I even copied it for each of our children to have for their own purposes to teach their children. We have been promised that when difficult questions come that the Proclamation will keep us from being deceived or from getting confused!!!

But why is it I have such a hard time memorizing!!????? I still am at the third paragraph, still looking at the pictures to try to remember. Wow, and I still have, what, six more large paragraphs to go. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the Proclamation. I remember when President Hinckley spoke in the General Relief Society Conference in 1995 and I was by myself sitting on my bed watching it, when he Proclaimed this document. I sat up so ready to hear what he was going to say. It took us all by surprise!! It was an incredible experience. I knew that it was inspired perfectly for us. So here it is 12 years later and look at what has happened to society. There is no question in my mind that it was given for a purpose.

I do love what Pres. Hinckley has to say, he has such a positive outlook, which I need, by the way, and one thing stuck out today in my personal study: "God did not place us on earth to fail. .... that your efforts as parents will not be counted as failure unless you give up".

So everyone, back to memorizing the Proclamation. At least I have the first 2 paragraphs down really good!!!
